It won’t just be girl groups making their comebacks this fall — big name ballad singers and R&B groups are also readying for their return, and it looks like it could be a tough battle for chart positions starting this month!
Music fans are eagerly anticipating the comebacks of Huh Gak, Sung Shi Kyung, Brown Eyed Soul, and Soulstar. Armed with either a richer voice or a dramatic transformation, these artists may very well turn the current trend of idol pop on its head.
Huh Gak will kick off the ‘ballad comebacks’ by releasing his new mini-album on September 16th. It’s said that the charm of his new album lies in his matured voice.
Meanwhile, the ‘Prince of Ballads’, Sung Shi Kyung, will also be making a comeback during the latter part of this year. At this time, he’s busily working with famous composer Hwang Sung Jae to complete the final stage of his new album.
These smooth crooners will be joined by skilled R&B groups, who will also be making a return to the music scene.
First off, Brown Eyed Soul‘s maknae Sunghoon will be releasing his first official solo album on the 22nd of this month. Reportedly, Sunghoon personally composed and wrote all the songs on his new album, so it’ll be quite interesting to see what fresh talents Sunghoon is ready to show.
Meanwhile, Brown Eyed Soul’s leader, Jung Yeob, will be taking the stage sometime in October. Jung Yeob will target the hearts of female fans with his distinct, romantic voice. In addition to releasing his new album and holding a concert of his own, Jung Yeob will also participate in the OST for MBC‘s ‘I Am A Singer’.
Brown Eyed Soul’s company shared some news about another member named Naul, stating, “Following the activities of the other members, Naul is also planning a new project”, and that ‘Through solo activities, this will be an opportunity for each member to make a mark on their individual turfs”.
One of the original R&B groups, Soulstar, will also be making a comeback after a four-year hiatus through a concert called, “SoulstAR is back” on October 30th. Thanks to their unaffected and authentic style, Soulstar has gathered a lot of dedicated fans who have patiently waited years for their comeback.
